Ember & Oak was born from a simple obsession: what happens when you strip a dish back to its raw, honest ingredients and let fire do the talking? Founded in 2012 by childhood friends and culinary partners Marcus Laurent and Elena Rossi, our restaurant began as a 28-seat supper club in the West Village and has since grown into one of Manhattan's most acclaimed dining destinations.

Our philosophy is rooted in provenance — every cut of meat, every foraged herb, every hand-pressed olive oil is sourced from farms and producers we know by name. We change our menu weekly to honour the rhythm of the seasons, and our open-fire kitchen ensures every dish arrives with the honesty of flame and smoke.

Policies

Yes — we accommodate vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, dairy-free, nut-free, and most common allergies. Please inform us at the time of booking and remind your server on arrival. Our kitchen has dedicated preparation areas for allergen-sensitive dishes.
Reservations may be cancelled or amended up to 24 hours in advance without charge. Cancellations within 24 hours or no-shows may incur a fee of $35 per person. Tasting menu bookings require 48 hours' notice.
We encourage smart casual to formal attire. We want guests to feel elegant and comfortable. Sportswear, athleisure, and flip-flops are not permitted in the main dining room. The bar is more relaxed.
We operate a BYO policy with a corkage fee of $45 per bottle. We ask that bottles brought in are not featured on our wine list. Please arrange this in advance.
Yes — Ember & Oak gift vouchers are available in any denomination from our website or by calling us directly. They are valid for 12 months and can be used for dining, private events, or our online shop.
Complimentary valet parking is available from 5:30pm Tuesday to Saturday. Street parking is limited in the West Village. We recommend arriving by taxi or rideshare.
