Ember & Oak was born from a simple obsession: what happens when you strip a dish back to its raw, honest ingredients and let fire do the talking? Founded in 2012 by childhood friends and culinary partners Marcus Laurent and Elena Rossi, our restaurant began as a 28-seat supper club in the West Village and has since grown into one of Manhattan's most acclaimed dining destinations.
Our philosophy is rooted in provenance — every cut of meat, every foraged herb, every hand-pressed olive oil is sourced from farms and producers we know by name. We change our menu weekly to honour the rhythm of the seasons, and our open-fire kitchen ensures every dish arrives with the honesty of flame and smoke.
